Women of Worship (formerly known as MOMS)

Women Of Worship is a women’s Catholic faith formation ministry (formerly known as MOMS)
We meet the 1st Wednesday of each month from
9:00 to 11:00 AM.
Childcare is offered for pre-school children.

History:  During the summer of 2009 the ICC MOMS core, together with our Director of Religious Education (DRE), concluded that the initial purpose for which our ministry was developed has changed.   We believe MOMS has been evolving into a Catholic formation ministry.  To reflect the desires our participants voiced in our end of year evaluations and to continue the vibrant ministry we have become, we renamed the ministry Women of Worship.

Scripture Inspiration:  excerpt of Luke 10:42.
“…Mary has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her”

Mission:  Women of Worship  is an inclusive ministry welcoming all adult women of the parish who have a desire to deepen their personal relationship with Christ through the study of Catholic Church teaching, its various expressions of spirituality and prayer forms.

We will achieve this mission by fostering the following goals:

  • Women will learn about their Catholic faith
  • Women will nurture and deepen their own spirituality
  • Women will be equipped to live the Catholic Church’s Mission

Operation:  We are a self-funded ministry through the collection of Shaw’s Supermarkets grocery receipts.

Core members:
Eileen Bowes – 888-0608 x230
Carmen Rodriguez-Brick – 521-7822
Renée Gardiner
Nancy Lehto

Calendar:  To lay the foundation on this new direction, our focus for the 2009-10 year will be the study of various expressions of spirituality to include St. Benedict Spirituality, St. Francis of Assisi Spirituality, St. Augustine Spirituality, St. Theresa of Avila Spirituality, Mother Rivier Spirituality, and Marian Spirituality.  We will also have a Lenten program facilitated by Eileen Bowes on “Healing Meditation”.  Here are our projected 2009-2010 dates:
